C.E. Griffen, Class of 1915, organized The Arts. The organization's purpose was "the furtherance of interest in pictorial, literary, dramatic, musical, and other artistic activities" (Constitution, 1916). Undergraduates, alumni, and faculty were eligible for membership; Harold Rugg acted as secretary for many years.
